Visual Artist and Fashion Designer, Isidra ‘Mercedes’ Vazquez, creates artwork with a flare of abstract compositions. Much of her work features cultural identity and soulful individualism with a touch of revolutionary hip hop influences. As a Chicago native, Puertorriquena raised in the heart of Humboldt Park, tradition and culture engraved their rights throughout the majority of her hand-painted artwork. Her love for fashion and black book sketching allows her audience to immerse themselves within her creative mind and space, navigating a tangible journal she shares featuring one-of-a-kind pieces.

With her unique sense of style and embellished brush strokes evoking passion and emotion, she has donated artwork & volunteer services as well as vended with Somos Arte (Chicago), participated as a vendor with Las Lolitas Bodega (Humboldt Park), has been featured and vended at the Afri Caribe Cultural Center (Humboldt Park), vended and donated artwork to The Honeycomb Network (Paseo Boricua), painted a community food pantry during covid for The Harvest OG (Roseland), exhibited at MeLatte Coffee Shop (Logan Square), Black Luxe Candle Co. (Wicker Park) and has held private sip & paint events at The Grand Kimball Lodge (Logan Square) as well as her very first solo show in 2023, "Beneath The Canvas" - a series of self-portraits.
